151209 B1A4 Adventure in Helsinki

Caution: a long post ahead.

So first off, I was super nervous and thinking that I might not want to go because my mental health hasn't been that great lately and I knew that the extremely long bus rides and possibly being in Helsinki all on my own would be really stressful. In fact, on the morning of the concert when I had to leave to Helsinki, the first thing I did after waking up was throw up. I really didn't want to leave because I was so nervous but I knew that I would regret it later on in my life, and now that I did go, I am honestly SO GLAD that I went.

The bus ride was also horrible, I felt sick the whole time because I was so nervous, I had a few slight anxiety attacks too because at that point I didn't know if I had anyone to go with to the concert. Luckily my friend texted me and told me that they'll be coming later too so that we can go at the same time.

Queuing was hell, it was cold and it rained pretty much the whole time I stood outside. We went to have some sushi at some point but I could only eat like 5 pieces because I was about to throw up again. Anyway, even though the circumstances for queuing were really poor, the company was great and so the time passed by somewhat quickly and I had fun while we were there. I had a huge wardrobe crisis and ended up wearing an outfit with no pockets so I panicked where the hell I would put my cloak room note(?) to? My friends joked that I should throw it to the stage and scream "Sandeul take my clothes!" I laughed at that so much, because you know how in some concerts people throw underwear to the stage? In the meantime I'd be throwing a quilted jacket for Sandeul.

But anyway, when we got it didn't take much longer for the concert to start. I even got pretty close to the stage because we went to the side, so I was somewhere like in 5th or 6th row. I was so sure I'd be somewhere at the back so I was really shocked to know that I'd get to see them from up so close because I hadn't prepared for that.

The concert started with a video playing that pretty much introduced the members and then they came out and started with one of my favorite songs, in the air. I was sooooo happy because I have multiple favorite songs that I wanted to hear live but because I only expected them to sing title songs but they played pretty much every song that I wanted to hear. I really can't remember the order of the songs, but after like 3 of them, they said something and played a few more before they introduced themselves. That was the highlight of my life, hearing them speak finnish because they had memorized things like "mukava että tulitte/nice of you to come here" instead of just saying hello in different ways like moi, hei and terve.

At the beginning of the concert, Baro was in front of me and he took a quick glance at me, but... it was like super quick. Then there was CNU who looked at me a few times, but I clearly remember the moment he stood there during a slow song and stared at me for a little longer. I didn't really get any attention from Jinyoung, nor Sandeul except for once at the end of the concert when he reached his hand out towards me as he sang. Also Gongchan definitely noticed me but I'll tell more about that later.

The first time the boys left the stage, another video came where there were playing some games. There were subtitles but because they were at the bottom of the screen of course I couldn't read them so I have no idea what was happening there. However, I think it was a really nice touch and after that the boys came out and sang another one of my favorite songs, You are my girl, in gigurumis. Obviously each was dressed up as their represantive animals, like Sandeul as a duck, Jinyoung as a fox, CNU as a bear, Gongchan as a dino and baro as a squirrel. Immediately after that they went back to change and came out in these white suits, performing the "real" last songs in those, such as sweet girl. I think there was another video again when they went to change, but again, I have no idea what was happening. All I know that it was an animated Gongchan speaking and waving his hands in the air, telling us to do something probably but I have no idea what.

They spoke a couple of more times during the concert, Baro was really good at english while the rest mostly stuck with korean, throwing a few english, and finnish, sentences here and there. I remember when Baro said they won't forget us, "emme unohda teitä" and Sandeul told us not to forget them "älä unohda meitä". Another speech was them teaching us the moves to What's happening before they performed it. It was so cramped though that it was impossible to dance to it. At the end they all gave out individual speeches, like Gongchan spoke something about how we were santas and gave them the best gift while they had to return the favor and be santas for us because christmas was coming. CNU asked us in korean if we were having fun and he looked so surprised when we understood him before the translator translated it for us and responded to him. His jaw dropped and then he covered his mouth with his hand.

Also when they were wearing those white jackets, all of them except Sandeul removed their jackets while Sandeul stood there with his jacket, obviously considering whether if he should take it off or not. In the end instead of taking his jacket off, he started buttoning it up with a face like "nope". Like what a tease! I wanted to yell Sandeul at that point because he was being silly, but I was too embarrassed to. Another tease was Gongchan who grabbed the hem of his shirt and was like, I'll lift it, but then obviously didn't and was like, maybe next time. You could see it coming from so far away that he wasn't really going to lift his shirt.

The last song before the encore that they performed was 10년 후 and this brings us to why Gongchan noticed me. I have never cried before at a concert or because of a concert, except for once two days after Block B was over, but I started weeping like crazy during that song. Like it wasn't just watery eyes and maybe a few tears but I even grimaced as I cried. Gongchan who stood in front of me definitely noticed it since he kept on staring at me and I covered my mouth with my banner in an attempt to look less ugly because I don't want Gongchan to see me looking like that! But he just kept on staring even after I covered my face so that only my eyes could be seen, I was expecting him to at least do something but he just looked at me with a small smile, which I don't know if was apologetic or what because I couldn't quite read it. I got over it later on, and I noticed Gongchan taking another look at me later on, as if to see if I was still crying.

Before the encore, there was another cute video with them playing around with paint and Hey girl was playing on the background. The encore was so long, they played like 5 songs and even spoke, and I had the time of my life during that time. What especially stuck to my head was when they played the second to last song, A cup of water because the song just wouldn't end!! I was so tired of jumping and every time I stopped they were like jump jump! And every time the song ended, the last chorus started playing all over again like at least 5 times. They even played it once for extra when we were all requesting for one more.

During the encore, they started throwing their water at us. At first I was like, yay, Jinyoung threw water on me and oh, Baro did too! But in the end I wasn't even keeping count anymore because they all threw water on me multiple times. And of course all of it always went straight into my eyes, so that my eyes stung and I couldn't see anything, not to mention to NOT waterproof make up. They even had a finnish flag up on stage and Baro ran around wearing it on his shoulders.

When the concert ended and I went to the bathroom I noticed that my make up was so smeared, like my cheeks were all black. I was like, no wonder Gongchan stared at me. For that reason I was also glad I didn't have a vip because I would have gone there looking horrible, not realizing it. We also went to the back of the venue to wait for the boys to leave and I was so sure I'd have to leave for my bus before they came out but we didn't even have to wait for long. They walked past us and went into the bus, and then waved at us. Baro used sign language to tell us it was okay to film him too even though the crew told us not to, but I didn't even understand what he meant back then. But, CNU and Baro both filmed a video from the bus when we gathered there waving at them, and I saw myself on both videos. So if nothing, I think this is quite an achievement to be on Baro's and CNU's instagrams.
